Some helpful information for beginning amateur astronomers

Fun times under dark skies
I'm the lucky owner of a new telescope. That means I spend a lot of time hoping for clear, dark skies. When I can't find them, I go looing for things to read to make that next trip outside even better. This is a place to help you find cool astronomy things to read, too.
Astronomy-related forums
My favoriite place to read about adventures in amateur astronomy is in Cloudy Nights forums. The forums at Astromart are also cool, but you do have to pay a one-time fee to join there. I think it worth it, though. The classified are especially good at Astromart.
Weather
Amateur astronomers worry about the weather almost as much as my dad used to when he was farming. A very cool place to start is by finding your local Clear Sky Chart. This National Weather Service page is also very informative, especially the cloud cover predictions.
